PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
It is my privilege to welcome you to the Web site of the International Center for Corporate Accountability. ICCA is a not-for-profit organization founded to promote good corporate citizenship worldwide. The mission of ICCA is to urge multinational corporations to create voluntary standards that would guide their conduct in overseas operations regarding issues such as wages and working conditions, protection of human rights, and sustainable development. An even more important aspect of our mission is to create systematic procedures by which we provide independent external monitoring to verify compliance by the companies with their voluntarily created codes of conduct.

ICCA's board is comprised of a diverse group of experts. These include economists and political scientists, legal scholars, environmental scientists, engineers, religious leaders and ethicists. They emanate from the United States and other parts of the world. ICCA is a collective of highly committed individuals with diverse professional and academic backgrounds. It helps companies adhere to high standards of ethical and professional conduct, to be sensitive to the needs of the multiple stakeholders who are impacted - both positively and negatively - by the consequences of a company's products and services, and to respond to these needs in a proactive manner.

In addition to reporting the activities of ICCA, this site will provide a forum for discussion, communications and idea sharing among scholars, civil society organizations, business and government leaders, and influential opinion makers, to promote programs and actions that strengthen the role of private enterprise in contributing to the common good.

ICCA is based at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York, and operates as a not-for-profit entity. We have adopted strict conflict-of-interest standards to ensure that audits and research are not supported by the corporate interests that we examine.

The problem of corporate accountability is global, and we welcome your suggestions and contributions to content of the site. Please contact us with your comments and suggestions. We would welcome hearing from you. To send us an e-mail Click Here.

Many thanks for visiting our site, and please come again!
S. Prakash Sethi,
President
